Job Summary
Conduct structured, high-quality soccer practices with consistency, executing drills that reinforce teamwork, sportsmanship, and self-regulation. Maintain active supervision during all sessions, ensuring safe arrivals, transitions, and dismissals while immediately communicating safety concerns to the Head Coach. Support athlete behavior, effort, and accountability; track attendance for practices and games; and assist with game-day logistics and team recruitment. Align with coaching staff expectations and uphold program standards through reliable attendance and punctuality. This role reports to the Dean of Student Life and works under the Head Coach at DREAM Charter High School in the Bronx. The position supports DREAM's mission to provide rigorous academics and youth development to over 2,500 students in East Harlem and the South Bronx.
Required Qualifications
- 1–2+ years of coaching or youth program experience preferred
- Experience working with school-age children
- Understanding of the sport's rules and fundamentals
- Ability to support youth development and behavior management
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- CPR/First Aid certification, a plus
- Strong alignment with DREAM's mission and values
- Commitment to start date: August 24
- Commitment to end date: November 30
- Flexibility in availability for practice times dependent on space
- Availability for 6 hours per week
- Availability for 6-8am on weekdays
- Availability for 4-8pm weekdays
- Availability for 1-7pm Fridays
- Availability for Saturday mornings
- Availability for evening and weekend games
