Job Summary
Provide one-on-one care for a senior couple in Wheeling, IL, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene. Safely perform one-person transfers using a gait belt, support mobility, and implement fall prevention techniques. Prepare meals, assist with feeding, and perform light housekeeping to maintain a clean living environment. Offer companionship and emotional support while observing and reporting changes in the clients' condition. Follow individualized care plans to promote each client's dignity and independence. Day shifts run 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with overnight shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, all in 12-hour blocks. Starting pay is $18.00 per hour with bi-weekly pay.
Required Qualifications
- At least 1 year of professional caregiving experience
- Experience assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Comfortable performing one-person transfers using a gait belt
- Experience with mobility assistance and fall prevention
- Must be able to reliably commute to Wheeling, IL for scheduled shifts
- Ability to maintain a consistent and dependable work schedule
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
