Job Summary
Conduct respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support for neonatal to geriatric patients. Monitor and wean oxygen therapy, administer artificial ventilation, and draw, analyze, and report Arterial Blood Gases and EKGs. Assist with changing artificial airways while delivering intermittent therapy as ordered by a physician. Review and document all clinical information, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and accreditation standards. Maintain proficiency with Windows-style applications for patient data entry and retrieval.
Required Qualifications
- Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
- Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Certified Respiratory Therapist
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification (only for trained therapists working in the NICU)
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard
