Job Summary
KIPP Indy is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support for students with diverse learning needs, ensuring access to individualized education programs (IEPs). Candidates must hold a valid Indiana teaching license in Special Education and possess relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Indiana teaching license with Special Education certification or eligibility (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in special education or a related field/ transition program (required)
- Strong knowledge of state and federal special education regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) (required)
- Commitment to the KIPP Indy mission and the Indianapolis community (required)
- Pass a criminal background check, as required by law (required)
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting (preferred)
- Experience in writing and managing IEPs (preferred)
- Proven track record of helping students with disabilities succeed academically, behaviorally, and socially (preferred)
