Job Summary
Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care, and maintains a safe, clean environment under the direction of the bedside RN. Ensures timely meal service, completes daily documentation for living activities and ambulation, and gathers patient intake and output. Performs hygiene tasks including bathing and linen changes, obtains and documents vital signs, and communicates observed status changes to licensed personnel. Notifies staff of pain complaints or abnormal vital signs while using proper body mechanics for safe patient transfers.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Successful completion of a certified nursing assistant program
- Current, unencumbered CNA certification
- Current BLS
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with pediatric, geriatric and general patient population
