Job Summary
Operate radiographic equipment to produce high-quality X-ray images while applying ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure. Perform routine and difficult diagnostic imaging procedures, including assisting with interventional procedures, venipuncture, and IV access. Collaborate with licensed practitioners by documenting clinical histories, relaying orders, and verifying informed consents. Maintain patient safety through aseptic techniques, infection prevention, and double ID protocols. Manage clerical duties, radiology information systems, and PACS while ensuring equipment maintenance and supply levels. Review completed tests for quality and assist in training students or orienting new staff.
Required Qualifications
- Must have successfully completed an educational program that is accredited by a mechanism acceptable to the ARRT
- Must be proficient in all fluoroscopy and specialized exams; including surgery within 6 months
- Must have and maintain ARRT (R)
- State licensure in accordance with Tennessee guidelines
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Strong attention to detail
