Job Summary
Imaging Support Specialist at LMH Health greets patients and checks them into the department’s RIS system, verifies orders and insurance, and schedules exams. Responsibilities include data entry into RIS, verifying order completeness, verifying insurance coverage, releasing radiology images to disc and cloud, importing outside images into PACS, performing QA activities, and handling inquiries across a busy radiology support environment. Requires excellent phone and customer service skills, basic medical terminology, ICD-10 knowledge, and proficient computer and office equipment skills; typically involves walking, standing, and moving imaging equipment. Preference for high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of customer service experience.
Required Qualifications
- Basic understanding of medical terminology
- Basic understanding of ICD-10 coding
- Excellent phone/customer service
- Proficient use of computer software, telephone systems, and general office equipment
- Proficient data entry into Radiology Information System (RIS)
- Verifies orders are complete and accurate; confirms insurance coverage for exams
- Schedules exams by phone, in person, and electronically
- Interacts with patients, physicians, and staff within hospital and outside facilities
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of two years of customer service experience (preferred)
