Imaging Support Specialist Inpatient -NBMC (Per Diem, Variable)

Job Summary
Obtain billing documentation and authorizations for inpatient imaging exams, interviewing patients to secure accurate demographic and insurance information. Verify eligibility and benefits, input patient demographics into the facility information system, and schedule exams for multiple diagnostic modalities. Process incoming exam reports for mailing or faxing, collect co-pays and account payments, and prepare court-ordered subpoenas and medical records requests. Maintain HIPAA compliance, process PHI viewing requests, and answer the multi-line switchboard to route calls. Transport patients as required for the inpatient role.
Required Qualifications
- knowledge of HIPAA laws/forms
- ability to obtain billing documentation and authorizations
- ability to interview patients or representatives for demographic and insurance information
- ability to verify and document eligibility and benefits
- ability to schedule exams for multiple diagnostic modalities
- ability to organize and distribute paper flow among facility staff
- ability to input patient demographics into facility information system
- ability to answer multi-line switchboard and route calls
- ability to input updates and/or changes to daily/weekly schedule and patient record
- ability to prepare and process court ordered subpoenas and medical records requests
- ability to process incoming exam reports
- ability to collect patient co-pays and/or account payments
- excellent customer service skills
- ability to transport patients (inpatient role)
