Job Summary
Process, prepare, scan, and index laboratory requisition forms daily while ensuring patient specimens are properly routed and stored. Retrieve, scan, and index requisition forms daily in a laboratory environment requiring biological hazard awareness and PPE. Champion safety, compliance, and quality control throughout the shift. This role operates Monday through Friday with alternate Saturdays from 11:00pm to 7:30am. You must possess a high school diploma, strong analytical skills, and the ability to operate general laboratory equipment including centrifuges and audible alarms. Previous training or experience in specimen collection is preferred. Access to Protected Health Information is routine, requiring strict confidentiality adherence.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous training or experience in specimen collection or processing
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, centrifuges, and audible alarms
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI)
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding PHI
- Ability to abide by all applicable privacy and security standards
Desired Qualifications
- 1 - 2 years of related experience in clinical laboratory, data entry, or production
