Job Summary

Operate nuclear medicine equipment to perform specialized procedures for patient diagnosis and treatment, including preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with physician orders. Maintain radiation safety standards, calibrate scanners and gamma cameras, and monitor radioactive materials while ensuring accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record and PACS. Provide patient-centered care by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and monitoring for adverse reactions. Requires current ARRT or NMTCB certification, a Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology, and one year of Nuclear Medicine Specialist experience. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology from a school recognized by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • One and one-half (11⁄2) years of progressively responsible imaging technologist/specialist experience demonstrating thorough knowledge of imaging procedures and techniques
  • One (1) year of progressively responsible professional experience as a Nuclear Medicine Specialist
  • Current ARRT (N) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current license to practice as a certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist in the State of Hawaii
  • Knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures
  • Knowledge of radiation safety and protection
  • Knowledge of nuclear medicine equipment
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
  • Knowledge of radiopharmacology
