Job Summary
Process, prepare, route, and store laboratory specimens as a vital part of the patient care process. Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions while working in an environment with biological hazards and PPE requirements. Champion safety, compliance, and quality control standards. Requires high school diploma, previous training in specimen collection or processing, and ability to operate general laboratory equipment. Schedule includes Monday through Friday with alternating Saturdays from 11:00pm to 7:30am.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous training or experience in specimen collection or processing
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, centrifuges, and audible alarms
- Routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI)
- Training on reasonable safeguards regarding PHI
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding PHI
- Adherence to all applicable privacy and security standards
- Ability to work in a laboratory environment with biological hazards and PPE requirements
- Ability to champion safety, compliance, and quality control
- Availability for Monday to Friday work with alternating Saturdays
- Availability for shifts between 11:00pm and 7:30am
- Part-time eligibility status (Not Eligible for full-time)
- Hourly rate acceptance of $18.70/hr including shift differential
Desired Qualifications
- 1 - 2 years of related experience in clinical laboratory, data entry, or production
