Job Summary
Responsible for receiving patients, collecting demographic and insurance information, verifying insurance coverage and authorization for services and accurately entering data into multiple computer systems for the Imaging Services outpatient admission process. Discuss financial responsibility with patients, maintain accurate patient account information, verify insurance, obtain authorizations/referrals. Requires the ability to learn and retain a broad base of knowledge concerning all examinations and make quick, independent decisions using good judgment. Works with patients, families, referring physicians and staff in a service-oriented manner, demonstrating empathy, respect, and understanding.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent required
- Medical terminology and knowledge of anatomy preferred
- Minimum one year of office/reception experience required (health care setting preferred)
