Job Summary
Imaging Lead responsible for the management, operation, and optimization of specialized micro and nano-CT and SEM imaging equipment in bp’s Reservoir Recovery Laboratory. Lead experiment design, ensure data quality across imaging workflows, provide specialist measurements and analytical support to the Digital Rocks squad, and collaborate with bp technical experts in computational science and petrophysics to maximise data realizations for core samples. Oversee laboratory activities, ensure radiation safety and orderly operations, and represent bp interests in collaborations with equipment manufacturers and software developers. Requires >5 years in petrophysics, X-ray imaging or SEM, strong project management, leadership, and excellent communication; MSc or PhD in a related field. Role offers relocation within country and a hybrid office/remote work arrangement; travel up to 10%.
Required Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification (MSc or PhD) in petrophysics, imaging, or a related field
- Five+ years of strong expertise in petrophysics, digital visualisation, X-ray imaging, and/or scanning electron microscopy with application to production and subsurface science
- Postgraduate qualification (MSc or PhD) in petrophysics, imaging, or related field
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Conscientious and inclusive leadership style with ability to foster agility and teamwork
- Good communication skills
- Experience: MSc or PhD in related field; hands-on laboratory experience in study planning, execution, reporting; strong lab safety processes
