Job Summary
Imaging Clerk duties include receiving requisitions and scheduling diagnostic imaging Examinations using the Radiology Information System (RIS); acting as a receptionist to patients; entering and updating patient/film information and registering patients; retrieving digital images/films and CDs/DVDs; providing digital images/films and reports to physicians; and related duties. Requires keyboard speed, English proficiency, ability to interact well with others, confidentiality, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a patient-registration setting. Prior PACS experience is an asset; education includes Grade 12 or equivalent and completion of an Medical Administrative Assistant or related program, or medical terminology coursework with relevant patient-registration experience. Physical ability to assist patients in wheelchairs. Must pass criminal records and registry checks. Required Qualifications
- Grade 12, or recognized equivalent
- Successful completion of a recognized Medical Administrative Assistant Program or a recognized medical secretary program or the first year of a recognized diploma/degree in nursing
- or Successful completion of a recognized medical terminology course, PLUS one-year experience in a Patient Registration department or one year related experience
