Job Summary
Coordinate patient preparation, exam setup, and procedure support for MRI, CT, mammography, and biopsies while assisting technologists and radiologists. Prepare sterile trays, biopsy equipment, and exam rooms; escort and transport patients; provide comfort during procedures; and supervise post-procedure care. Review orders, laboratory results, and pharmacy status; complete billing, PACS documentation, and patient registration. Perform pre- and post-procedure calls to support workflow and confirm patient information. Maintain sterile techniques, document activities, and respond to adverse events within scope. Work variable shifts including weekends and after-hours; on-call rotation required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), or ability to obtain within sixty (60) days of hire
- Regular and sustained attendance
- Working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts
- On-call work availability
- Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly
- Ability to sit occasionally
- Ability to stand repeatedly
- Ability to walk and move around within the work area
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like
- Ability to twist, bend, stoop, and kneel repeatedly
- Ability to reach above shoulder level repeatedly
- Ability to push and pull repeatedly
- Ability to perform fine-finger movements continuously
- Close visual acuity continuously
- Ability to learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, and make timely decisions continuously
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, blood, bodily fluids, or tissues
- Exposure to radiation in settings where medical imaging procedures are performed
- Exposure to various chemicals and medications used in healthcare settings
- Exposure to infectious diseases caused by contact with patients
- Exposure to emotionally challenging situations, such as dealing with distressed patients or difficult family interactions
Desired Qualifications
- One (1) year of healthcare, radiology, imaging, or medical field experience
- Certification or licensure in a medical-related field
- Formal healthcare education or training through an accredited program
