Job Summary
Manage patient flow, verify identities, and conduct pre-procedure screening including contrast consent and education. Position patients on the scanner table, load contrast injectors, and administer medications while monitoring for adverse reactions. Assist with remote cardiac monitoring for MRI patients off nursing units, maintaining continuous two-way communication with the technologist. Initiate BLS protocols and escalate to physicians or EMS per facility protocol. Requires EMT certification, LPN license, or paramedic credentials, plus recent cardiac monitoring experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Graduate of an accredited paramedic program
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited LPN program
- Prior experience as a paramedic
- Prior experience as an LPN
- Recent experience in cardiac monitoring
- Recent experience in arrhythmia interpretation
- EMT Certification
- LPN license
- 2nd year Rad Tech status
- BLS certification
