Job Summary
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings to minimize downtime and unsafe conditions. Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex equipment issues while developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs. Mentor and train Automation Technician I colleagues, updating technical documentation and standard operating procedures. Collaborate with engineering teams on design changes and upgrades, documenting all maintenance activities and repairs. Follow OSHA and internal safety standards while utilizing advanced troubleshooting skills to address controls defects.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years working in material handling industry preferred or equivalent industry experience
- 2 years industry experience or equivalent
- Familiarity with material handling equipment and PLCs
- Familiarity with material handling equipment and knowledge of function
- Working knowledge of handheld and power tools
- Basic knowledge of PLCs and motor control
- Advanced ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, moderate electrical, and controls defects
- Advanced ability to interpret both mechanical and electric drawings and schematics
- Self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented
- Knowledge of safe industrial work practices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Customer service orientation
- Ability to work in and contribute to a team setting
- Intermediate computer skills including MS Office
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with CMMS platform a plus
- Ability to assist in the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of all material handling equipment and components a plus
