Job Summary
Provide nursing care in the oncology unit, performing comprehensive patient assessments and delivering nursing interventions. Responsibilities include performing routine and complex procedures (e.g., phlebotomy, medication administration, conscious sedation, chemotherapy administration, inseminations, implantable pain pump management), documenting assessments in the patient’s medical record, ensuring patient confidentiality, and coordinating with other departments to optimize patient care. Lead and delegate tasks to LPNs and Medical Assistants in accordance with Illinois law; educate patients and families, initiate and coordinate patient education, and participate in community education programs. Maintain a safe, OSHA-compliant environment and support a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality oncology care.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in nursing
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Registered Professional Nurse licensure in the State of Illinois
- Certification in Basic CPR
- Two years of relevant clinical experience in an acute or ambulatory care environment
