IF/TF Centerless Grinding Machinist

Job Summary
Operate and develop expertise in advanced grinding processes including OD, ID, and CNC cylindrical grinding, while reading blueprints, interpreting specifications, and using precision measuring tools for in-process inspection. Set up and run CNC grinding machines, track job time, and collaborate with Quality Assurance technicians on critical inspections to maintain tight tolerances and protect high-value customer components. Troubleshoot grinding issues related to setup, finish, and geometry, and support continuous improvement and process development. Work with premium equipment such as Kellenberger and Jones & Shipman grinders in a medical device and aerospace environment.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizen or have a valid Green Card
- A Restrictive Covenant Agreement (NDA) must be executed
- Confidentiality of all KMM Group business matters
- Standing at machines throughout the workday
- Walking the shop floor regularly
- Lifting up to 50 lbs
- Handling customer components with care
- Occasional computer use for programming, job tracking, and documentation
- Using hand tools, measuring tools, and shop equipment as needed
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience
- Experience with OD grinding, ID grinding, CNC grinding, cylindrical grinding, or precision machining
- Experience with tight-tolerance manufacturing
- Familiarity with CNC conversational programming
- Experience in medical device, aerospace, defense, contract manufacturing, toolroom, production machining, or precision manufacturing environments
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Comfort using precision measuring tools
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
- Attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
- Ability to work carefully with high-value customer components
- Willingness to learn advanced grinding techniques
- Commitment to safety, quality, and process discipline
