Job Summary
The Individual Education Program Coordinator will oversee all aspects of the special education IEP team process for the entire school population, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and maintaining accurate data for IEPs, records, and mandated accommodations during state testing. Responsibilities include organizing training for school personnel, overseeing IEP development, diagnostic assessments, and annual/triennial reviews; facilitating IEP meetings; coordinating transition and discharge plans and wrap-around services; collaborating with parents and LEA representatives; and supporting teachers with instructional modifications. The role also involves developing and implementing IEP services plans, participating in FAPT and IEP meetings, reporting IEP-related data, and conducting staff development on IEP systems, with a strong focus on ensuring Least Restrictive Environment and high professional standards across stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree and current Virginia State Department of Education teaching certificate in Special Education
- Advanced certification preferred with a minimum of 3 years teaching experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in all aspects of the special education IEP Team process
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to collaborate with diverse disciplines and individuals
