Job Summary
Conduct supervised practice experience under direct preceptor supervision at Oakville, Milton, or Georgetown hospital sites. Demonstrate application of nursing knowledge, skill, judgment, and understanding of accountabilities per CNO Practice Standards and Halton Healthcare policies. Complete a minimum of 140 hours within a maximum of 450 hours while working in an in-patient unit. Submit a CNO-approved tool evaluation upon program completion and provide proof of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in the RN or RPN category.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a non-registered RN or RPN applicant who is an Internationally Educated Nurse
- Must be registered in the non-practicing Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) class
- Must provide SPEP Eligibility letter from the CNO
- Must be available to work in an in-patient unit at any of our 3 hospital sites - Oakville, Milton, Georgetown
- Must successfully complete a minimum of 140 hours during which application of nursing knowledge, skill, judgement and understanding of nursing accountabilities (CNO practice standards) is demonstrated
- Must be able to practice under the supervision of a nurse in the appropriate category or class of registration
- Must successfully complete the program within 6 months
- Must receive pre-employment medical clearance by our Health, Safety & Wellness team, prior to their start date
- Must demonstrate compliance with Halton Healthcare's Immunization Policies
- Must provide proof of vaccination or proof of a documented medical exemption
