Job Summary
IDOE STEM Coach SY26-27 for South Bend, IN provides leadership in implementing high-quality STEM instruction across the school community.Responsibilities include instructional planning, modeling, co-teaching, mentoring teachers, delivering intensive STEM-focused professional development, supporting data management and formative assessment, and fostering family engagement in literacy and math. The role emphasizes aligning STEM across reading, writing, language arts, and math; supporting SIP/Title I/PLC collaboration; and ordering materials to support instruction and parent involvement. Requires a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred), Indiana teaching license, and at least five years of classroom teaching with strong STEM expertise; includes responsibilities for coaching teachers, facilitating reflective practice, and leading STEM initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Master’s degree preferred
- Valid Indiana Teacher’s License
- Five (5) years of effective classroom teaching experience
- Proven leadership ability
- Ability to organize, plan and implement effective professional development
- Explicit understanding of effective Math and Reading/Language Arts curriculum and instructional practices
- Knowledge of collaborative instructional models
- Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in instructional programs related to STEM
- Ability to plan and implement lessons based on STEM instructional practices
- Expertise related to STEM content and pedagogy
