IDD Manager, BIM & Digital Engineering - Future Opportunities

Job Summary
Lead BIM, GIS, and digital construction initiatives across design, estimating, planning, and construction phases for large infrastructure projects. Provide leadership and coordination for technical work streams including engineering disciplines, design management, and asset management. Ensure delivery of BIM and GIS in accordance with ISO 19650 standards and validate Information Models using Institute for BIM in Canada toolkits. Manage resourcing profiles based on bid-phase goals and coordinate between client representatives, consultants, Aecon, subcontractors, and JV partners. Support the IDD Director with future developments and ensure digital integration across all project functions. This role supports Aecon's Integrated Digital Delivery function to enable project ecosystems for complex civil projects across Canada, the U.S., and internationally.
Required Qualifications
- 5 - 10 years of relevant experience on large infrastructure projects
- Large infrastructure BIM implementation experience
- Engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training plus experience and knowledge of civil construction practice
- Excellent knowledge of BIM standards (ISO 19650 / Institute for BIM in Canada)
- Experience with model federation platforms such as Assemble Systems, Navisworks and Bentley Navigator
- Experience in the implementation of Common Data Environments such as ProjectWise and Aconex
- Detailed understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards and their impact on project activities
- Working knowledge of EHS regulations
- Experience across all stages of a project lifecycle
- Experience working within construction project environments
- Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) are essential
- Excellent customer service skills, a passion for problem ownership, and a customer first attitude
- Proven experience in priority setting, multitasking, and working with minimal direct supervision
- Ability to travel to site and be mobile for projects
Desired Qualifications
- Experience on large complex infrastructure projects would be desirable
- Understanding of design and construction phases and alignment with the Digital Plan of Works
- On-site construction experience would be desirable
- Bilingual (French and English) would be considered an asset
