IDC Renewals Engineer

Job Summary
Provide technical support for pavement, surfacing, drainage, and structures renewal projects while undertaking site investigations, technical assessments, and treatment selection activities. Support project planning, programming, and delivery across the network, monitoring quality assurance processes, Renewal Quality Plans, and Inspection & Test Plans. Manage subcontractors and suppliers as required, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and value for money. Build strong relationships with NZTA, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams while supporting and mentoring developing engineers, graduates, and emerging talent. Champion a culture of Zero Harm, collaboration, and operational excellence within the Transport & Infrastructure team.
Required Qualifications
- An engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience
- A Full Class 1 Driver Licence
- Experience within civil construction, road maintenance, infrastructure renewals or network maintenance environments
- Knowledge of pavement, surfacing, drainage and asset lifecycle management principles
- Experience in maintenance programming, cost estimation and performance-based contracts
- Strong understanding of health, safety, quality and environmental management systems
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
- The ability to influence, collaborate and build trusted relationships across diverse teams
- A commitment to learning, innovation and supporting others to succeed
