ID/OD Grind Machinist -1st or 2nd Shift

Job Summary

Set up and operate precision CNC ID-OD grind equipment independently and safely. Read process travelers, setup journals, tooling sheets, and operation sheets to produce complex finished products with very close tolerances. Make tooling adjustments and program offsets as necessary, while accurately inspecting work using air gages, OD indicating gaging, indicators, and micrometers. Perform daily TPM responsibilities and maintain good housekeeping practices on machines and in the work area. Comply with all safety rules and regulations and wear necessary PPE. Actively participate in cross-training, cost savings, and team activities to improve processes. Aero Gear supplies aerospace gears and gearbox assemblies to top OEMs including Pratt & Whitney and GE.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of aerospace CNC machining experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • US Person (Green Card Holder or United States Citizen)
  • Ability to accurately inspect work very close tolerances utilizing various instruments, including air gage, OD indicating gaging, indicators, profilometers, micrometers, height stands and verniers
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to regularly stand
  • Ability to frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to occasionally walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Desired Qualifications

  • Degree/certificate from vocation school or college program
  • Extensive experience may substitute for education
