Job Summary
ICW Lead Case Manager II provides direct social services and case management within the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe, including home visits, safety planning, foster/relative placements, and ICWA compliance. Responsible for assessing client needs, developing safety plans, coordinating with tribal, county, and state agencies, preparing and reviewing legal documents, conducting relative searches, and ensuring proper data reporting and audit readiness. Requires knowledge of ICWA, tribal/state/federal child welfare policies, ability to work with diverse communities, willingness to travel, and completion of required trainings; position includes background checks and drug screening, and may require after-hours work.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree and 3 years direct case management experience
- 1 year ICW experience or experience with Native American population
- Knowledge of ICWA and tribal, federal, and state laws and requirements
- Knowledge of child welfare practices
- Ability to assess risk and determine need for out-of-home placement
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
- Ability to plan, organize and meet deadlines
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks
- High-School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Child Welfare, Psychology or related field
- Associates of Arts degree and 3 years of direct case management experience
- 1 year with direct ICW experience, or working with the Native American population
- Knowledge of Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) requirements
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and consent to random urine analysis
- Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and insurance
- Must have a High-School Diploma or GED
