ICU Technician

Job Summary
Maintain the patient care area, clean equipment and utility rooms, and distribute linen and supplies. Transport specimens, equipment, and medications while answering phones and restocking gloves. Observe infection prevention guidelines and provide safety measures, including bed positioning and hazard identification. Assist RNs with patient transports, ADLs such as diaper changes and enteral feedings, bathing, and hygiene needs. Perform RN delegated duties including capillary blood glucose checks, 12-lead ECGs, and patient repositioning under supervision. Empty foley bags and change suction canisters. Prioritize multiple assignments in a high-stimulation environment with frequent interruptions.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- One-year recent experience (within the past 5 years) providing patient care in an ICU or similar setting
- One year of recent OHSU Lift Team experience in the ICU setting
- 12-lead EKG
- CBG QC compliance
- Rehab training completion
- BLS certificate
