Job Summary

Maintain the patient care area, clean equipment and utility rooms, and distribute linen and supplies. Transport specimens, equipment, and medications while answering phones and managing call transfers. Observe infection prevention guidelines, ensure patient safety, and provide comfort measures such as blankets and positioning. Assist registered nurses with patient transports, activities of daily living including diaper changes and enteral feedings, hygiene needs, and safe patient mobilization. Perform RN-delegated duties including capillary blood glucose checks, 12-lead ECGs, emptying foley bags, and changing suction canisters. Requires prioritization of multiple assignments in a high-stimulation environment with potential exposure to body fluids and radiation.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • One-year recent experience (within the past 5 years) providing patient care in an ICU or similar setting
  • One year of recent OHSU Lift Team experience in the ICU setting
  • BLS certificate
  • 12-lead EKG
  • CBG QC compliance
  • Rehab training completion
