Job Summary
Conduct autonomous therapeutic apheresis procedures in critical care, emergency, and outpatient settings, including plasma exchange, red cell exchange, and stem cell harvests. Perform venipunctures, manage central venous catheters, and assess patient status relative to procedures using the nursing process and laboratory results. Coordinate treatments with physicians and external healthcare personnel while evaluating medication compatibility and maintaining a clean, safe work environment through supply assembly and equipment readiness. Travel to various hospitals and Red Cross sites to deliver lifesaving treatments. Variable 1st shift Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week with rotating on-call duties.
Required Qualifications
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
- CPR certification
- Bachelor's degree OR a combination of education and work experience
- Two years of experience in medical/surgical or critical care nursing
- Good vein selection and venipuncture skills
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively discuss procedures and medical issues with patients, families, and physicians
- A current, valid driver's license
- A good driving record
- COVID-19 vaccination (or approved exemption process)
