Job Summary
Perform Apheresis procedures autonomously in critical care, emergency, and outpatient settings, including plasma exchange, red cell exchange, and stem cell harvests. Assess patient status relative to therapeutic apheresis, coordinate closely with physicians to arrange treatments, and evaluate medication compatibility for safety. Assemble, restock, and maintain supplies and equipment in a state of readiness. Act as a consultant to external health care personnel and explain procedures to patients and families. Variable 1st shift Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week with rotating on-call. No experience required; training provided. Fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Required Qualifications
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
- CPR certification
- Bachelor's degree OR a combination of education and work experience
- Two years of experience in medical/surgical or critical care nursing
- Good vein selection and venipuncture skills
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively discuss procedures and medical issues with patients, families, and physicians
- A current, valid driver's license
- A good driving record
- COVID-19 vaccination

- Previous apheresis or dialysis experience
