Job Summary
Formulate teaching plans based on identified learning needs and evaluate their effectiveness, including family education. Provide direct and indirect patient care while assessing and managing pain through appropriate techniques. Revise the plan of care daily based on patient response to treatment and evaluate overall effectiveness. Perform disciplinary actions and participate in hiring and termination of staff. Communicate with physicians, Nurse Manager, and co-workers regarding changes in patient clinical conditions, diagnostic results, and symptomatology. Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or treatment response. This dual clinical and managerial role operates on a full-time, 36-hour night shift schedule at Northern Nevada Medical Center. The position requires current NV State Registered Nurse licensure and a minimum of three years' nursing experience.
Required Qualifications
- Current NV State Registered Nurse Licensure
- A minimum of 3 years' nursing experience
- Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certification as appropriate for department specific
Desired Qualifications
- Specialty Certification preferred
- Bachelors in Nursing preferred or enrolled in an accredited program within one-year of employment or transfer into supervisor role
