Job Summary
Execute maintenance and repairs on ice resurfacers, edgers, floor machines, and snow removal equipment under the supervision of the Iceplex Operations Supervisor. Provide daily ice maintenance using choppers and resurfacing machines while maintaining proper temperature controls and sharpening or repairing rental skates. Perform opening and closing procedures, ensure regulatory standards for cleaning supplies, and maintain daily logs for preventative maintenance. Cover specified shifts for the pro-shop and Public Skate, managing cash drawers, receipts, and deposits as a sales clerk. Assist management with the annual maintenance budget and work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- previous maintenance experience
- NYS Driver's License
- Ability to effectively communicate
- Able to work independently, as part of a team, and accept supervision
- Take initiative, anticipate, prioritize, adjust, and follow tasks through to completion
- Successfully operate within deadlines
- Use creative problem solving skills
- Adhere to company, department and State guidelines as directed
- Predictable and reliable attendance
- Strong customer service skills
- Available to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Exposure to slippery conditions, cleaning solutions, chemicals, low/high temperatures, and various inclement weather conditions
- Prolonged standing, walking, bending and reaching
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds
