Job Summary
Execute maintenance and repairs on ice resurfacers, edgers, floor machines, plumbing, and electrical systems under the supervision of the Iceplex Operations Supervisor. Provide daily ice maintenance using choppers and resurfacing machines while maintaining proper temperature controls and sharpening rental skates. Cover specified shifts for the pro-shop and Public Skate, managing cash drawers, receipts, and deposits as a sales clerk. Perform snow and ice removal, ensure regulatory standards for cleaning supplies, and maintain daily logs for preventative maintenance. Assist management with the annual maintenance budget and provide supervision to maintain building and equipment standards. Available to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- previous maintenance experience
- NYS Driver's License
- Ability to effectively communicate
- Able to work independently, as part of a team, and accept supervision
- Take initiative, anticipate, prioritize, adjust, and follow tasks through to completion
- Successfully operate within deadlines
- Use creative problem solving skills
- Adhere to company, department and State guidelines as directed
- Predictable and reliable attendance
- Strong customer service skills
- Available to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Exposure to slippery conditions, cleaning solutions, chemicals, low/high temperatures, and various inclement weather conditions
- Prolonged standing, walking, bending and reaching
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds
