Job Summary
Oversee facility operations and equipment management at the Grand Casino Arena and TRIA Rink, including daily ice resurfacing, edging, and housekeeping. Operate a Zamboni, perform skate sharpening, and complete repairs on dasher boards and safety shields to maintain field of play standards. Manage cash transactions, conduct indoor air quality testing, and execute facility security functions while adhering to OSHA and league safety requirements. Assist in annual ice surface assembly and disassembly, perform pregame inspections, and respond to emergencies during TV breaks and intermissions. Work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, with availability for a minimum of six shifts monthly.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be available to work a minimum of six shifts a month
- This position works irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on events
- Physical requirements include sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, lifting, grasping, etc
- Regularly work near moving mechanical parts
- Exposure to fumes and/or airborne particles
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Regularly work in areas requiring hearing protection
- Work at heights up to 50 feet
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unaided and up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Ability to work indoors with varying temperatures and some outdoor exposure
- Must be able to sharpen hockey/figure skates and minor repair experience is preferred
Desired Qualifications
- (STAR) Certified Ice Technician (CIT) and Safe Ice Resurfacer Operation (SIRO) course completion preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications preferred
- Five or more years of continual experience working in an ice arena operating resurfacers with industry training programs or ten or more years with no formal industry training programs
- Ability to sharpen hockey/figure skates and minor repair experience is preferred
- Provide superior customer service
- Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor environments
- Ability to follow written and oral direction and demonstrate strong communication skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail
