Job Summary
The Ice Cream Specialist at United Dairy Farmers is responsible for providing outstanding service and preparing ice cream and food service items for guests. Key functions include efficiently operating the point of sale system, stocking merchandise, maintaining security and cleanliness within the store, and ensuring high-quality customer service through the UDF Hi Five Guest Experience. Candidates must have effective communication skills, ability to operate store equipment, and physical capability to handle merchandise and work in varying temperatures.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Ability to speak, hear and understand spoken English well enough to communicate effectively with customers
- Ability to see well enough to operate store equipment
- Ability to understand operating instructions for store equipment
- Ability to prepare DipSide items
- Ability to handle coins, currency, checks, credit transactions, coupons and food stamps
- Ability to recognize numbers, count and do arithmetic
- Ability to move merchandise from storage to shelves
- Ability to clean counters and other surfaces
- Ability to tolerate exposure to temperatures as low as –30 degrees Fahrenheit
- Ability to tolerate exposure to temperatures as low as +33 degrees Fahrenheit
- Ability to raise at least 10 pounds from floor level to a height of 5 feet
- Ability to place an 8” x 10” x 10” package weighing 21 pounds into a dip cabinet
