Job Summary
Lead engineering projects from concept through implementation at the Covington TN factory, including ice cream packaging line installs, process improvements, plant utilities modifications, and civil construction. Review engineering drawings, align them with Safety, Quality, Operations, and Maintenance teams, and supervise execution. Coordinate cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and external vendors to design, specify, and implement manufacturing equipment, tooling, and process improvements. Develop project schedules, risk assessments, and progress reports while supporting continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction. Forecast Capex spend and track performance metrics using the EEM methodology.
Required Qualifications
- 5-7 Years experience in project engineering or related roles
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- Demonstrated experience managing engineering or capital equipment projects
- Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, AutoCAD, etc.)
- Understanding of project management principles, early equipment management, lean manufacturing, etc.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with FDA-regulated manufacturing
- Ability to lead and influence up and down the organization
- Strong ownership of project outcomes
- Able to navigate through unexpected challenges and drive execution
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
