Job Summary
Instrument & Control Technician II responsible for operating, testing, maintaining and troubleshooting DCS and associated field devices including CEMS at a 240 MW natural gas-fired plant. Performs on-condition tasks, analyzes test data, calibrates and repairs plant instrumentation and control devices, reviews drawings and logic diagrams (P&ID, wiring schematics), and prepares reports. Requires knowledge of GE Mark VI, ABB Bailey INFI 90, PLCs, instrumentation test equipment, and strong analytical/problem-solving skills. Travel may be required; must follow safety policies and participate in O&M qualification process within 2 years of hire. Must maintain documentation, coordinate job planning, and work with vendors and internal teams. Requires a two-year technical degree or equivalent experience, five years of relevant Power/industrial electrical or instrumentation background, and valid US driver license.
Required Qualifications
- Two-year technical degree or equivalent power plant/industrial electrical, instrumentation, or electronics experience
- Minimum of 5 years of power plant and/or industrial electrical, instrumentation or electronics experience
- Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), GE Mark VI and ABB Bailey INFI 90, Various PLC Controllers, Teledyne Monitor Labs CEMS controls and equipment
- Programming and configuration capabilities preferred
- Knowledge of instrumentation test equipment, signal generators, relay test sets, oscilloscopes and computers
- Ability to interpret control drawings and P&ID’s
- Valid U.S. Driver license with acceptable MVR history, if applicable
