Job Summary

Maintain and troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and control systems in a 125 MW combined-cycle power plant (Arapahoe facility). Perform electrical maintenance on equipment <600 V and assist with >600 V systems; conduct job safety briefings; verify absence of voltage; wire/unwire motors; diagnose issues in control circuits and relay trips; support PLC/DCS controls programming, system health monitoring, and maintenance strategy; participate in preventative and corrective maintenance as part of a System Ownership team; coordinate with contractors/vendors during major outages; operate site equipment; and comply with safety procedures, training requirements, and emergency call responsibilities. Finalists are expected to possess a two-year technical degree (or equivalent experience) and at least five years in power plant/industrial electrical or electronics roles, along with PLC/DCS/CEMS knowledge and strong communication skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Two-year technical degree (associate degree) required or equivalent power plant/industrial electrical experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of power plant and/or industrial electrical, instrumentation, or electronics experience
  • Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), PLCs, and CEMS controls (programming and troubleshooting preferred)
  • Ability to interpret electrical and control drawings and P&IDs
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Valid U.S. driver license with acceptable MVR (if applicable)
  • Ability to obtain/maintain access and comply with safety procedures
  • Willingness to work night, overtime, weekend, and holiday shifts; travel as needed
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively on a System Ownership team
  • Knowledge of lock-out tag-out procedures and electrical safety standards
  • Experience with maintenance planning, outages, and documentation in CMMS/work management systems
  • Experience with instrumentation testing equipment, relays, oscilloscopes, and calibration
