Job Summary
Develop and maintain IATF 16949 compliant quality management system documentation while conducting internal audits to ensure adherence to standards and company procedures. Lead problem-solving activities using core tools such as 8D, FMEA, and Control Plans, and manage customer specific requirements (CSRs) throughout the product lifecycle. Drive continuous improvement initiatives through statistical process control (SPC) and collaborate with cross-functional teams on APQP activities, including PPAP submission and approval. Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, root causes, and areas for improvement. This role supports manufacturing firms in Byron Center dedicated to maintaining high standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field
- Minimum 3-5 years experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated expertise in IATF 16949 standards and core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC)
- Proven ability to lead and facilitate problem-solving activities (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone)
- Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical process control and data analysis
Desired Qualifications
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification
- Experience with AIAG Core Tools training and implementation (e.g., APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA)
- Working knowledge of customer-specific requirements for major OEMs (e.g., GM, Ford, Stellantis, BMW, Mercedes)
- Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) for data analysis and problem-solving
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen)
