Job Summary
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, process instrumentation, and control systems including motors, MCCs, switchgear, DCS, and PLCs. Diagnose faults, perform preventive maintenance, calibrate field devices, and document activities in the CMMS while interpreting schematics and P&IDs. Support plant operations by tuning control loops, optimizing process stability, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and PSM standards. Work in industrial environments with exposure to heat, noise, and chemicals, climbing ladders and lifting up to 35 lbs. Overtime, on-call, nights, and weekends are required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3–5 years' experience as an I&E Technician in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Chemical or continuous process experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of industrial electrical systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of process instrumentation and calibration
- Demonstrated knowledge of PLC/DCS-based control systems
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, control narratives, cause-and-effect diagrams, and electrical drawings
- Familiarity with hazardous area classifications and intrinsically safe systems
- Ability to work in industrial environments with exposure to heat, noise, and chemicals
- Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and lift up to 35 lbs
- Willingness to work overtime, on-call assignments, nights, weekends, and plant outages as required
- At least 18 years of age
- Willingness to take a drug test
- Willingness to submit to a background investigation
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
- Satisfactory work performance (for current employees)
Desired Qualifications
- Technical degree or certification
- Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification
- Experience in chemical, petrochemical, refinery, or specialty chemical operations
- Experience with specific DCS/PLC platforms (e.g., Emerson, Honeywell, Rockwell, Siemens)
- Experience with CMMS systems such as SAP or Maximo
- NFPA 70E electrical safety training or certification
