Job Summary
Maintain and service plant Instrumentation & Electrical systems, performing preventative maintenance and calibrations on production equipment. Calibrate, test, inspect, operate, troubleshoot and maintain electronic devices (PLCs, transmitters, controllers). Diagnose and repair electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic controls. Manage computer-driven control systems and related devices; install, configure, and maintain variable frequency drives. Evaluate performance of prototype and production equipment; perform routine and major repairs. Assist in design, engineering and procurement of electrical equipment and instrumentation, write job safety analyses, and uphold safety procedures. Collaborate with production engineering, quality, and maintenance to minimize downtime and resolve production issues. Participate in training to stay current with new technologies and safety requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Technical School training or certificate preferred
- Minimum of 5 years’ instrumentation and electrical experience
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 70e
- Ability to use calibration, electrical, infrared, and ultrasonic testing equipment
- Strong equipment / process technical knowledge
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (Allen Bradley, FactoryTalk) including function block, structured text, and ladder logic
- Knowledge of Micro Motion Pro-Link Transmitter Configuration, Rockwell Automation Executive, and CCW (Connected Components Workbench)
- Knowledge of DeltaV DCS preferred
- Knowledge of Factory Talk software including minor programming changes and RSLogix 5000
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Able to read electrical schematics and ladder logic
- Chemical manufacturing industry experience
- Must be able to work within a team environment
