Job Summary
Monitor and inspect testing equipment and instrumentation throughout the plant facility, correcting control loop performance issues by making minor adjustments or tuning. Disassemble malfunctioning instruments to test for defects, replace defective parts, and reassemble equipment for conformance to specifications. Calibrate and align instruments according to established standards, update E&I calibration programs, and assist in developing preventive maintenance procedures. Perform or monitor installations of new instrumentation, ensuring conformance with standards and special R&D testing needs. Continuously identify problem areas to suggest plans optimizing performance regarding installation, hardware, software, and process issues. Participate in scheduled safety meetings, complete training requirements, and coordinate maintenance contractor work as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Technical school training relating to electrical/instrumentation testing and repair
- 3-5+ years of experience
- Knowledge of electro-mechanical and electronic testing techniques and procedures
- Ability to use a variety of precision tools and diagnostic equipment
- Knowledge of math in order to perform and understand basic calculations
- Familiarity with computers as a user
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing and problem solving skills
- Displays creativity skills
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team-based environment
