Job Summary
The Instrument and Electrical (I&E) Technician will construct, troubleshoot, and commission electrical and instrumentation systems at the Crosby Oxides facility, including installing/testing/commissioning equipment, motors, instrumentation, PLC and DCS components, and performing instrument calibrations and loop checks. Responsibilities include reading electrical drawings and loop sheets, installing and commissioning systems, performing calibration and testing of instruments (temperatures, analyzers, flow transmitters, DP, pressure, level), commissioning XV valves and control valves, maintaining records, and ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and teamwork to deliver installed plant systems per standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical or vocational training in industrial electrical or instrumentation preferred
- Experience in an industrial, chemical, or manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, industrial instrumentation, and process controls
- Experience with troubleshooting and maintaining DCS, PLCs, and motor control systems is a plus
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and technical manuals
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
