Job Summary
I&E Designer Level III sought to provide drafting and design support for a chemical manufacturing operation in Port Neches, TX. Responsibilities include managing MOC and PSSR processes, reviewing/updating P&ID’s and PFDs, creating and updating instrument specification sheets, assembling instrument documentation for construction, assisting with instrument technology sizing selection with the Control Engineer, coordinating with onsite Maintenance on small design projects, estimating and forecasting instrument man-hours per project, and participating in weekly engineering meetings, EHS safety and MOC-related activities, along with PHA/LOPA and other company-training initiatives. Required skills include AutoCAD and technical drafting for P&ID’s, strong written/verbal communication, familiarity with DCS, PSM, and batch processes, ability to manage multiple projects, and experience with MS Office and documentation systems. Education: Associates degree in Drafting and Design or related field; 15+ years of I&E design experience.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in Drafting and Design or a related field
- 15+ years of I&E design experience
- Familiarity with chemical plant control system (DCS) is a plus
- Batch Process experience preferred
- Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- AutoCAD, Technical Drafting, P&ID’s
- Able to navigate through multiple projects and priorities changes
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Must have a level of proficiency AutoCAD
- Experience with documentation Systems, Internet, Email and Microsoft Office programs
- Proven ability to understand P&ID’s
