Job Summary
I&E Apprentice responsible for testing, calibrating, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining process instruments and related instrumentation systems. Duties include calibrating, troubleshooting, repairing and replacing instruments (valves, transmitters, controllers, transducers), reading and understanding manuals, schematics (one-line, P&ID, ladder diagrams), and knowledge of PLCs and electrical systems. Must be able to perform field calibration, read schematics, and demonstrate familiarity with electrical OSHA rules; NCCER instrumentation certification and State Electrical License required. The role emphasizes maintenance of instruments, calibration of electronic instruments with transmitters/controllers/recorders, loop checks, and ensuring specified operating performance through instrument testing and adjustment. Location-based duties occur in Bishop, TX; company requires legal work authorization in the United States; no visa sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED; NCCER certification for Instrumentation; State Electrical License; 3-5 years Journeyman level experience; NCCER certification; Plant Maintenance experience preferred; must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States; no visa sponsorship
