Job Summary
I&C Technician for outage in Bridgman, MI tasked with inspections, testing, troubleshooting, repair and calibration of electronic, electrical, mechanical and pneumatic instrumentation systems, including microprocessor-controlled radiation monitoring and nuclear instrumentation systems. Responsibilities include testing/calibrating/repairing transmitters, indicators, converters, switches, PA/telecom systems, heat trace circuits, alarm modules and control relays; analyzing and repairing solid-state reactor protection and rod control/rod position indicator systems; installing design changes involving wiring modifications, cable testing, terminations, print changes, and piping/tubing installations; assisting engineers and vendor reps with data collection, troubleshooting, and testing of specialized equipment; reporting out-of-spec conditions. Requires standing for long periods in warm environments, climbing ladders/scaffolding, and navigating tight spaces. Education: associate degree or equivalent; Experience: two years in instrumentation/controls; Nuclear industry experience preferred. Safety-focused with background checks and radiological area qualification. Salary range: $30/hour to $56/hour (annualized $62,400 to $116,480). Location is on-site in Bridgman, MI during outage window mid-Sept to mid-Oct.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent education and experience
- Two years' experience in Instrumentation and Controls or related field
- Desire candidates with nuclear power industry experience
- Ability to pass criminal background, drug/alcohol screen (including medical and recreational marijuana and CBD oil), and employment testing
- Ability to be qualified to work within the radiological controlled area
