Job Summary
Install, maintain, and calibrate all pneumatic and electronic instruments associated with the trade while troubleshooting controls to Printed Circuit Board (PCB) level. Utilize schematics, logic drawings, and vendor manuals to solve problems and effectively use all available test equipment. Maintain good working knowledge of electronics (solid state) and programmable logic controllers. Starting pay for Journeyman in Training is $50.75/hour, rising to $56.84/hour after six months upon meeting performance expectations. Regular attendance and diligent work habits are required. This role is part of Talen's dedicated team powering the future through diverse fuel generation assets, including nuclear energy, across the United States.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Technical School degree or certification in instrumentation field or closely related field, or completed apprenticeship program in the instrumentation field
- Valid Drivers' License
- Passed or be able to pass the Skilled Trades Testing/EEI MASS testing
- Good working knowledge of schematics, logic drawings, location drawings, vendor drawings and manuals and piping and instrument diagrams
- Ability to utilize all the test equipment associated with the craft
- Good knowledge of electronics (solid state)
- Ability to troubleshoot controls to Printed Circuit Board (PCB) level
- Good understanding of test equipment used in the trade
- Basic knowledge of computers and programmable logic controllers
- Regular attendance and diligent work habits
