Job Summary
Lead communication designs and coordinate with other disciplines to create conceptual and detailed systems designs, including producing design drawings, specifications, and design analysis deliverables. Manage assigned budgets, scopes, and schedules while performing quality control duties and independent technical reviews. Coordinate with a BIM/CAD team for drawing production and mentor less experienced staff members. May perform fieldwork, write assessment reports, assist with design guides and templates, or provide support to business development activities. This role supports U.S. Government Agency/Department clients in Architecture/Engineering, Defense Program, Design/Build, Classified, and Environmental sectors.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification
- Minimum qualifications to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search)
- 4+ years of experience designing applicable telecommunication systems
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, EIA, TIA, BICSI industry standards, codes and best practices related to the design of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), low voltage, and telecommunications systems
- Strong knowledge of structured cabling systems from a safety and constructability perspective
- Strong knowledge of inside plant (ISP) cabling infrastructure to include telecommunications spaces and pathways, copper, and optical fiber cabling and connectivity
- Experience in outside plant (OSP) design of copper and fiber optic communication systems
- Experience in audio-visual (AV) system design
- Direct Federal experience but no RCDD but DOES have plans of sitting for the RCDD in the next few months
- Certified Technology Specialist-Design (CTS-D) certification
