I&C Area Superintendent, Chandler, AZ - Semiconductor

Job Summary

Own field execution of all Instrumentation and Controls and Life Safety Systems scopes within the assigned area, including safety, quality, schedule, and turnover. Provide area-level leadership for superintendents, foremen, and trade partners while establishing priorities for daily coordination, weekly work planning, and three-to-six-week look-ahead activities. Coordinate manpower, material availability, and workface readiness to maintain uninterrupted progress, serving as the primary field authority for control panels, PLCs, DDC, BMS, SCADA, and low voltage systems. Lead planning for fire alarm, smoke control, and emergency shutdown interfaces, resolving conflicts with electrical, mechanical, and commissioning teams. Review drawings, schematics, and specifications for constructability, verify installations against approved documents, and partner with QA/QC to manage hold points and witness testing. Maintain accurate status reporting, lead recurring coordination meetings, and mentor field leaders to ensure safe, high-quality execution. Full-time role in Chandler, AZ with excellent benefits starting the first of the month following start date.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of construction or engineering experience supporting Instrumentation and Controls, automation, low voltage, or Life Safety Systems in complex industrial, semiconductor, high technology, advanced manufacturing, or mission critical facilities
  • Demonstrated experience leading an area, major work package, or multiple trade teams on a large construction project
  • Strong working knowledge of PLC, DDC, BMS, SCADA, low voltage controls, instrumentation, system interfaces, and controls integration in complex facilities
  • Working knowledge of fire alarm and life safety system requirements, testing protocols, interface management, and multi trade coordination
  • Ability to interpret control schematics, point to point diagrams, riser diagrams, device layouts, sequence of operations, P&IDs, specifications, and construction work packages
  • Proven ability to develop and manage look ahead plans, field priorities, workface readiness, constraint logs, manpower plans, recovery actions, and turnover milestones
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and the interfaces between I&C, electrical, mechanical, process systems, HVAC, fire protection, CSA, and commissioning
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve field constructability issues, make timely decisions, and coordinate solutions with design professionals and project stakeholders
  • Experience with QA/QC inspections, system walkdowns, punch list management, loop checks, controls validation, functional testing, startup, and system turnover
  • Proficiency in managing RFIs, submittals, redlines, as built documentation, inspection records, test packages, and turnover documentation
  • Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and accountability skills in a fast paced field environment
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field

Desired Qualifications

  • Semiconductor fab, cleanroom, subfab, process utility, central utility plant, or tool install construction experience
  • NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems or another relevant Life Safety qualification
  • OSHA 30 certification
