Job Summary
Assess patient dental needs through screening, charting, and medical history review while delivering direct care including cleaning, polishing, and sealant application. Take vital signs, radiographs, and electronic records, then document history and chief complaints. Complete treatment plans prescribed by the dentist, explain fees, and articulate patient concerns. Educate patients on decay and gum disease prevention through proper diet and homecare. Clean and sterilize instruments while maintaining confidentiality. Coordinate primary treatment with ancillary duties as needed. Monday to Friday schedule with flexible hours; 401(k), dental, health, and vision insurance provided.
Required Qualifications
- Individual must be reliable
- Completed dental hygiene certificate program or associates degree in dental hygiene
- Current hygienist license for state of North Carolina
- Ability to demonstrate independent thinking and exercise good judgment
- Ability to formulate, affect, interpret, and/or implement operating practices
- Ability to demonstrate teamwork approach to job responsibilities
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, dependability and promptness
- Ability to perform frequent repetitive work with attention to detail
- Ability to be flexible and accept different work assignments with a positive approach
- Ability to follow instructions and take responsibility for own actions
- Ability to exercise confidentiality with patients and patient care
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals and written correspondence
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Registered Dental Hygienist License
